Seeking Justice is a new Nicolas Cage movie, that he seems to be spewing out like a mad man. Strangely enough, this one is not so bad at all, although there are some strange things present. For example: the first third of the movie is totally weird, with some amateur camera-work and unconvincing acting all around. Not to mention lame action scenes. But then, suddenly, everything changes and as the plot thickens, movie starts looking better and better. Director Roger Donaldson (The World’s Fastest Indian, The Recruit, Thirteen Days) really surprised me with his choice of actors, I mean Nicolas Cage and January Jones (sounds like she’s the playmate of that Playboy issue) seemed too aloof for this type of movie, while Guy Pearce was a perfect choice for Simon. With a suspenseful and intense atmosphere and a story that you wanna know the ending to, Seeking Justice is a good viewing experience.
Will and Laura Gerard are a happily married couple living in New Orleans, but their lives will be changed forever when Laura is brutally raped and beaten. While in hospital, Will is approached by a mysterious man, Simon who says that he knows who did the dirty deed. He offers him his death in the exchange for a “small” favor that Will will have to do in future (not future future). He accepts this deal, overwhelmed by pain and anger not knowing that it will lead him into a world of trouble. A world where the Hungry Rabbit Jumps…
