I know that there’s almost no information about this movie, but I just had to write something about it because of my love for Egyptian culture. Also, almost all of the movies set or connected to the Egypt were excellent from Indiana Jones to Stargate (and lets not forget Transformers). Directed by Alex Proyas I just have a good vibe about this movie, story is okay and with a nice cast it could be really awesome. One of the questions that I would like to hear an answer to is will this be another SFX explosion-paloosa or a thriller with an accent on the story. I would prefer the latter, although with some nice and down-toned effects this could also work.
In case you don’t know what movies did Alex Proyas directed here’s a short list: The Crow, Dark City , I, Robot and finally Knowing that kinda sucked. But Mr. Alex is on the move again with his new movie Gods of Egypt featuring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau better known as Jaime Lannister from Game of Thrones. He will play Horus, ancient Egyptian god of the sun, war and protection who will with a little help from a common thief and Hathor, goddess of love try to avenge his fathers death. This is all that is known about Gods of Egypt at this time, but hopefully as time passes on, more information will be available.
And time has passed, attaching two new names to the movie: Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush. My Horus, this is shaping up to be a really good movie, even more so with the hints that the gods will be portrayed as they were in ancient Egypt, with falcon heads. Lets keep our fingers crossed for those pimped-out troopers from Stargate… Gerard Butler will be Set, and the almighty Sir Geoffrey Rush, God of Sun, Ra! Fuck yeah, I just can’t wait for this to come out…
