20th Century Fox had hired Ridley Scott to direct a prequel to the movie Alien, also rumors surfaced that he will be making another prequel to
prequel. So we are looking at two new alien flicks. Although Ridley could hire someone to direct the movie for him, leaving producing to him, he decided to take matters into his own hands. As he stated in his interview, it is his desire to explain how alien race was created and many more things that are taken for granted in the first Alien movie. The main character is going to be a feisty female, but Sigourney Weaver is not mentioned as an actor in the movie. The release date is supposed to be somewhere in 2012, if we live enough to check it out…
Alien is one of those movies that I can watch on a monthly basis, and nothing can ruin that, but there is a real possibility that these movies will be turned into some kiddie-friendly version of Alien (my greatest fear with all these sequels, prequels and other stuff is the rating, and by that I mean that the studios are pushing directors and producers to make movie as benign as they can so they could show it to a much wider audience)…
