Movie 43 is a very strange movie. You either love it or hate it, there’s simply no middle ground. I think that most of the hate comes from people who couldn’t see the most important message that this movie is sending. Although when a guy has his balls on the chin, it’s kinda hard to miss it. That message is: the Internet is fucked up, and people are even more fucked up. It doesn’t matter whether you think that this is true or not, this is a fact.
The only question that remains is are you willing to look into the deepest depths of the Internet. And also, at the same time, the deepest depths of the human soul. Of course, this is all for fun, so don’t think that you will find some revelations here. In case you like toilet humor, pranks, and weird situations this is a movie for you. Otherwise don’t even try to check it out. Best viewed while drunk or high, Movie 43 is something really special.
Never in my life have I seen a movie with so many What The Fuck scenes. And this was the main idea behind the movie, to make something that viewers have never seen, without any censorship or restraint. Now, I have to admit that some of the segments are bad. Luckily, the next one is always just around the corner so all you have to do is wait. The concept reminded me of Burning Palms, another darkly comical oddity.
Two buddies, Calvin and JJ, decide to make a “Jackass” clip and post it online. As they were celebrating one million hits on Youtube, Calvin’s nerdy younger brother Baxter appears on their screen explaining that they have only one view and that the rest was just a joke. Mad at him, they decide to prank him by telling him that there’s this infamous Movie 43 that apparently no one can find on the Internet. Ready to meet this challenge, Baxter starts to search the dark corners of the Internet and while he’s doing that, Calvin is filling his computer with viruses. To pass the time while they search, they check out some of the most deprived and forbidden videos on the Internet…
Comprised of precisely 14 fucked up stories, and with a bunch of actors in their prime, Movie 43 doesn’t even try to make sense. It just goes with the flow and by that, I mean the weirdest and most awkward situations that you can imagine. The prevailing theme is sex, so get ready for some twisted and perverse plots. I swear, at some scenes, I just had to cover my eyes, while laughing my ass off, of course.
For some of the viewers this will be nothing new as the Internet is full of these WTF videos. The rest needs to catch up with the current trends. You’ll see, in a couple of decades this movie will be mention as the American version of Monty Python. So, if you want to see some famous actors in bizarre scenes, do check out Movie 43.
