Single Location Movies

Tight, claustrophobic, and incredibly intense, Single Location Movies are hard-hitting when done right. They’re one of my favorite genres, and I spent a lot of time creating this best-of list.

Abigail 2024 Movie Scene Dan Stevens as Frank and Melissa Barrera as Joey all bloody after a vampire exploded in the sunlight in front of them

Abigail [2024]

Comedy
As stereotypical and predictable as they come, Abigail is a horror comedy that still offers enough action and bloody fun to warrant a viewing.
The Belko Experimient 2016 Movie Scene Tony Goldwyn as Barry Norris about to execute some of his workers

The Belko Experiment [2016]

Horror
Following a familiar, equal parts brutal and thought-provoking formula of single-location murder mayhem, The Belko Experiment is a good watch.
Starred Up 2013 Movie Scene Jack O'Connell as Eric Love in his prison cell holding a guard hostage, oiled up and ready to fight

Starred Up [2013]

Thriller
Boasting humor that only comes out from such a horrid place as a prison, Starred Up is a compelling masterpiece oozing authenticity.
Infested AKA Vermines 2023 Movie Scene A giant spider about to attack an unsuspecting man in an apartment building

Infested AKA Vermines [2023]

Horror
Limited by stereotypical character development, Infested is still a nasty little French horror laced with arachnophobia and claustrophobia.
A Prayer Before Dawn 2017 Movie Scene Joe Cole as Billy Moore getting ready for the Muay Thai fight in the prison

A Prayer Before Dawn [2017]

Thriller
Immersive and hauntingly realistic, A Prayer Before Dawn is a gripping prison movie based on an incredible true story, a true masterpiece.

What You Wish For [2023]

Thriller
Oozing with mystery, What You Wish For is an engaging thriller with a dark twist, an even darker humor, and a beautifully exotic setting.
Immaculate 2024 Movie Scene Sydney Sweeney as Sister Cecilia hearing something strange in her room

Immaculate [2024]

Horror
Messy and underwhelming, the latest occult horror Immaculate is saved by Sydney Sweeny's committed performance and the creepy setting.
Night of the Demons 2 1994 Movie Scene Amelia Kinkade as Angela in her demonic form holding a sacrificial knife over Merle Kennedy as Mouse

Night of the Demons 2 [1994]

Horror
Entertaining, gory, and just the right amount cheesy, Night of the Demons 2 is everything that a good horror comedy should be.
The Whale 2022 Movie Scene Brendan Fraser as Charlie, morbidly obese gay online teacher, laughing in the sunlight

The Whale [2022]

Drama
Cleverly avoiding emotional manipulation and remaining completely honest, The Whale is a movie about life, love, and ultimately, death.
The Cleansing Hour 2019 Movie Scene Alix Angelis as Lane tied to a chair and possessed by a demon

The Cleansing Hour [2019]

Horror
Effective and refreshing, The Cleansing Hour is an indie horror comedy officiating the unholy marriage between exorcism and social media.
